When I was a child, my (Kansas City) family would pack a picnic and head to Excelsior Springs for swimming in the salt water pool, and picnic at Lake Maurer. We always stopped at the Hall for a drink of the mineral water. I was NOT interested in this at all, at that time. Now , as a resident of the community for 21 years, I realize this building is our most important building, as built over the first spring, the original spring, and where all the ‘drinkable’ waters were piped in. It’s also a completely one of a kind building, anywhere in the world, thus a major attraction for visitors and tourists. It is my wish, and share this with many others, that the waters could once again be bottled and for sale.
